WORKSHOP FACILITATION
September 2006 - May 2007 Facilitated workshops & consulted on pioneer Associate Schools Programme inset that helped the teachers of Lathom Primary School to re-write their curriculum to foster more creative approaches to teaching. This project was organised by Creative Partnerships & East-Side Educational Trust & hosted by the British Museum; following, I worked on various other ASP insets in primary schools throughout London [UK].
October 2006 - April 2007 Taught undergraduate poetic practice seminars for first & second year creative writing students at Royal Holloway, University of London [Egham, UK].
January-February 2007 With the National Magazine Company, London College of Communication, Arts Council England & the East-Side Educational Trust I facilitated & documented a project via which a set of Year 12/13 students from City of London Academy produced their own magazine "for youth, by youth" [Southwark/London, UK].
October-November 2006 As part of Creative Partnerships' Associate Schools Programme, I collaborated with teachers at St. Andrew's Primary (Islington) & Harrington Hill Primary (Clapton) schools to teach history using various creative writing techniques/exercises [London, UK].
August 2006 Facilitated 'Intro to Digital Video' workshops at the Vibe youth centre in Barking. The project coached students through scripting, storyboarding, shooting, & editing digital videos that presented their feelings about and perspectives on teenage pregnancy & drug addiction [London, UK].
May-June 2006 As part of the local Earl's Court Festival I facilitated a set of storytelling workshops for the local elderly community; stories developed during the workshop were used to create 5 x A1 digital prints about the workshop participants' experiences of living in Earls Court, which were later exhibited as part of the festival [www.earlscourtfestival.org.uk; London, UK].
April 2006 Through the East-Side Educational Trust I co-facilitated 2 x week-long creative speech-writing workshops for Key Stage 3 & 4 students [www.eastside.org.uk; London, UK].
March 2006 In collaboration with activist writer/artist Ceri Buck I co-developed, facilitated & documented 'Stories Everywhere!', a month-long set of writing workshops for Years 3, 3/4, & 4 in Hermitage Primary School. Built on the theme public writing, the project invited the children to write site-specific stories focusing on their local environment. The students published their stories via maps, graffiti & a hanging installation of 20 life-size paper silhouettes [on which each Year 4 child had written a unique self-portrait-as-place] . 'Stories Everywhere!' was supported by Hermitage Primary School, East-Side Educational Trust, & Creative Partnerships East [Wapping/London, UK].
Jan-Feb 2006 Via Creative Partnerships' programme placing poets-in-residence in Slough schools, I facilitated a set of 10 poetry workshops at Foxborough Primary School and organised a school-wide Poetry Day featuring individual experimental writing workshops tailored to each age from Reception to Year 6, as well as a project specifically for the school's Hearing Impaired Unit [Langley, UK].
Mar-May 2005 Provided creative & technical support for artist Mario Lewis' experimental video workshop for 6 visually impaired people at 198 Gallery in Brixton [www.198gallery.co.uk; London, UK].
2002-2003 For the journal Montage I co-organised & facilitated free writing workshops for undergraduate students at McGill University [Montreal, Canada].
