Pantoume
From Sophie Robinson's Introduction in How2: Pantoume thinks itself through; it binds you up in its cycles. It won’t have itself skimmed or ignored. It is a testament to the possibilities of collaboration and cross-media works, and the role art can play in prompting action and change in social attitudes.
Pantoume was written in 2006 as a loose, hypertext annotation of collages by writer and artist Marianne Morris. This was originally published in How2 (Vol. 3, Issue 1, Summer 2007) — along with an introduction by poet Sophie Robinson; an interview between Sophie, Marianne, and I; and Sophie’s poem Sugar, a response to Pantoume.
In 2018, the text was republished in the Chicago Review as part of its feature #MeToo: A Poetry Collective, edited by Emily Critchley and Elizabeth-Jane Burnett.
